well for one the wake is over and we've cremated my grandma. the wake was strange. the mood on the first day was really sombre, maybe the impact of what happened that morning was sinking in. everyone was quiet, treating each other like we're all made of glass. subsequent days were better, the mood was nearly festive. maybe it was our way of forgetting what we had gathered in my uncle's house for. i talked to many of my cousins for the first time in my life, and i must say it must be the longest period i've ever spent with some of my cousins. entertaining guests and having loud and hilarious conversations with my cousins, aunts and uncles made the whole atmosphere almost festive. im sure my grandma would have liked how we came together. so the first few days of the week were spent rushing from work, to home, to wake. took leave on wed so we all [the whole entire Chia clan, i believe] stayed over at my uncle's house. after most of the guests left, those old enough stayed up to here the so called family story. its actually a recollection from my uncles and aunts about the life of my grandma and those around her. her story, i believe is the greatest story ever told. im not gonna type it here coz its really really long but she really is one of the most amazing women i've ever known. what i will rmbr most abt her is her incredible strength and selflessness and thoughtfulness. we will miss her. saturdays wont be the same without her anymore but its definitely a good thing that shes free from the agony of being sick now.
thurs was e cremation. fri i went to work and went for drinks at novus with my colleagues and their assorted friends. seems like i got over mourning pretty fast eh? haha but we knew for the longest time that this time was going to come so i cant say it came as a shock when she left. and five days of mourning is pretty long, really. i was pretty much cried out by thurs.
on sat i met joanne super early to give jov a birthday surprise :) surprise turned out okay even tho it didnt seem much of a surprise? haha but jov i hope u like e present! we went for nus open house and den on to watch horton :) its a really good show. and horton is so jim carrey! its hilarious :)
sunday we got caught in a horribly big rain. in the five [okay maybe ten] mins that we were walking in e open it had to rain like shit. we were totally soaked! umbrella was not much use at all. and my jeans were soaked through. it was disgusting. e rest of e day it didnt rain that bad so seriously we were damn suay. dried off at the nus open house [yes i was there again!]. den we went to watch step up 2. which is pretty good too but i prefer horton :) so if u only have time for one movie u know what to choose :)
